Philadelphia 76ers rookie’s NBA 2K25 rating revealed

In the run-up to the 2024 NBA Draft, all reports indicated that the Philadelphia 76ers wanted to trade their first-round pick. Despite this, they ultimately held on to the pick and selected Jared McCain.

McCain is a 6-foot-3 guard who played at Duke University last year. He quickly emerged as a strong talent at the two-way position, averaging 14.3 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 1.9 APG while shooting 41.4% of his shots from beyond the three-point line.

Every year, the release of a new NBA 2K game is all about the player ratings. On Friday afternoon, the overall ratings of the first-round picks in the class of 2024 were announced. As for McCain, he starts the year with a 70th overall rating. He’s on par with other talents like Dalton Knecht, who was selected right after him by the LA Lakers.

In his first year in the NBA, McCain finds himself in a rare situation. After an offseason in which the Sixers completely revamped their roster, they are now in a great position to compete for a championship. McCain will also share the court with a trio of star players: Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George.

Despite being drafted in the first round, it’s not clear that McCain will get any playing time as a rookie. As mentioned, the Sixers are a team with championship ambitions. In addition to a guard who is one of the pillars of the franchise, McCain also has veterans like Kyle Lowry, Reggie Jackson and Eric Gordon ahead of him in the rankings.

The Philadelphia 76ers on SI The show is available on the streaming platforms Spotify, Apple and Amazon.

While it won’t be a regular occurrence, McCain should get some opportunities to play as the season progresses. Nick Nurse is a tenacious defender who can space the court and will certainly be able to gauge the rookie’s ability at the NBA level.
